Incredible Detail
Notice the crisp details? The process of scanography captures objects slowly line-by-line as the sensor records data. This process can be arduous and time consuming but with tremendous results.
Objects closer to the glass are more in focus.

Motion + Scanography = ❤️
Leveraging motion during the scanning process produces incredible and unusual results. Objects are morphed and stretched into interesting new abstract forms, letting your imagination fill in the blanks.
Unconventional Approach
What I love most about this work is the juxtaposition of stationary “bubbles’ and the distortion captured by moving the object as the sensor moves across the scanner. Pretty neat, huh?

Life is too short to play it safe.
Despite the risk of ruining my electronics, I leverage liquid directly on the scanner to create interesting patterns and textures. Watch the video to see my process.

Scanography
This experimental method of image-making captures objects with incredible detail and offers an unusual perspective for the viewer. In this body of work, I employ found objects of varying textures and colors to create powerful narratives.

Artist Statement
Art carries my voice when words fall short. It’s the visual language that both abstracts and defines complex emotions, thoughts, and subject matter.
My process is rooted in experimentation, using found and repurposed materials alongside techniques like slow shutter speed, motion, and flash to create dynamic and layered images. I combine this with unconventional editing methods to achieve vibrant, evocative colors, allowing each piece to tell its story. Over time, I’ve moved toward embracing the technical challenges of creating these visuals directly in-camera, letting the work evolve organically.
Through my art, I want to remind viewers that beauty exists everywhere—not just in iconic landscapes, but in the seemingly ordinary spaces that surround us. By encouraging a sense of wonder and introspection, I hope to inspire both exploration of the world and a deeper appreciation of oneself. This visual language doesn’t come with rules or instructions; instead, I invite the viewer to let the work speak to them. Whatever their emotional response—feel it. Embrace it. Enjoy it.
